BUSINESS AGILITY-Teaming up with DevOps
DevOps and Agile communities are working together to ensure convergence to digital is coordinated at all levels
With the rise of urgency to onboard to digital, there are various possibilities which will unfold goldilocks scenario for software industry. DevOps and Agile communities are working together to ensure convergence to digital is coordinated at all levels. An emerging approach to transition into the new world is through focusing on Business Agility, a concept which has emerged strongly since last two years. Business Agility can prove guiding light for software business inorder to explore market opportunities, innovate and execute.
Business Agility is multi-dimensional and is not simple. At Canada, DevOps Community of Practice we engaged with leaders, teams and individuals to create a dialog on how Business Agility will converge with DevOps and we have tried to outline the key factors influencing this transition. We would presentour findings through this whitepaper.

DevOps Assessments – Redefining Future
DevOps Assessments – Redefining Future
Taking the discussion where we left last time with our whitepaper on DevOps Transformation trying to unfold the“unique” secret of a successful transformation towards DevOps. It becomes more evident we need more collaboration on how we will adopt our transformation with continuously evolving needs, increasing pace, quality and security. The success of this huge culture transformation initiative dependson continuous learning from failures, continuous feedback and our ability to change the course. Lastly, continuous Innovation considering automation as a pivotal ingredient. While we study the next steps bringing structured approach towards DevOps transformation, assessment is one of the first steps. This paper is primarily inspired by a talk that was presented at DevOps Summit 2020, Canada by MarcHornbeek. He presented “Self Assess 9 Pillars of DevOps andMapping your journey” using these main sections for assessment:
- DevOps Blueprint
- 9 pillars of DevOps
- Seven-Step DevOps Transformation Blueprint
- DevOps Assessment Objective
- Pre-requisites for DevOps Transformation
- Assessment Process
- Value Stream Workshop

DevSecOps – Future Outlook On The Roadmap
DevSecOps – Future Outlook On The Roadmap
As most of the organizations trying to unfold the “unique” secret of a successful transformation towards DevOps, it becomes more evident that continuously evolving needs, increasing pace, quality and security define the transition towards advance DevSecOps practices as well.
This paper is primarily inspired by a talk that was presented at DevOps Summit 2020, Canada by Stefan Streichsbier. He presented “The Future of DevSecOps” using three main sections:
1) The Past – Ride down memory lane that helps to understand how software security has changed over the years
2) The Present – Where things are at today with Engineering and DevSecOps and existing challenges and
3) The Future – Take a look into the crystal ball to see what kinds of goals to achieve to make DevSecOps practices implementation and witnessing transformation with Speed and Quality.

DevOps Transformation
PATH CRAFTED BY FAILURES, EXPERIMENTATION & UNLEARNING
This paper is primarily inspired by a talk that was presented at DevOps Summit 2020, Canada by Mirco Heiring. He presented modern transformation landscape for organizations that closely followed DevOps evolution and liked to jumpstart the journey, primarily large enterprises hoping to re-make the culture. As we unfold the secret of a successful transformation towards DevOps, it becomes more evident that continuously evolving needs and increasing pace define the transformation. The journey will remain unique for each large enterprise, but the core of success depend son how well the organization incrementally steps back, which is to observe and experiment new ways, assess failures and continue the unlearning journey from the past.
A tale of successful transformation from the past..

Gamification Toolbox for DevOps
Cross-functional boundaries are blurring, people are motivated to cross over into different roles
whitepaper “Leveraging the power of Gamification”, explores further gamification toolbox for DevOps. Since the inception of DevOps culture, a decade ago we have been witnessing new working patterns in software industry. Cross-functional boundaries are blurring, people are motivated to cross over into different roles, collaborating informally to enhance the landscape. Subsequently, we have seen a rise in more coordinated channels and communities to create a set of ideas forfurther experimentation. To consolidate the ideas, these communities also fork out pilots and open-source initiatives from time to time to embrace and leverage the open ecosystem of knowledge and advance the DevOps persona types and skill set. Consequently, together we are constructing a choice of behaviors the lead to community culture.
How Gamification can support mindset shift required for DevOps?
